The FL3217m is a compact, high-performance UHF RFID wet inlay/label designed for diverse item-level tracking applications across retail, logistics, and asset management industries. Measuring just 32 mm × 17 mm, this label delivers powerful read performance in a small form factor, making it ideal for applications where space is limited but reliable RFID performance is essential.

Engineered with the Impinj M830 chip, the FL3217m leverages Impinj's latest RAIN RFID technology to deliver excellent read sensitivity and robust performance. The M830 chip supports the Gen2X extension to the Gen2 protocol, enabling advanced features such as:

  • Xearly Fast ID (XFID) : High-speed tag identification in dense reader environments

  • Qt Technology: Enhanced privacy mode for selective tag deactivation at point-of-sale

  • AutoTune: Automatic impedance matching for consistent performance across different materials

The chip features 128-bit EPC memory for flexible data encoding and 96-bit TID memory with a factory-programmed 48-bit unique serial number for reliable item authentication. With read sensitivity optimized for small antenna designs, the FL3217m delivers typical read ranges of 3–8 meters (depending on reader configuration and environment).

The label operates across the global UHF frequency band (860–960 MHz), ensuring seamless deployment in multiple regions including North America (FCC), Europe (ETSI), and Asia. The aluminum-etched antenna on PET substrate provides consistent performance across various application surfaces.

RFID Tag Layer Structure:

  1. Face Stock (Coated Paper):Top printable layer of the tag,to provide printable surface and environmental protection

  2. Bonding Adhesive: Permanent adhesive for inlay attachment, to secures inlay to face stock permanently 

  3. Inlay → Inlay (Industry term - retain original): RFID chip + antenna embedded in substrate, 

  4. which contains the RFID IC and antenna (critical functional component)

  5. Release Adhesive: Temporary adhesive for liner backing, which allows temporary attachment to liner

  6. Release Liner (Siliconized Paper): Protective backing paper peeled during application, to enable die-cutting and protects adhesive until use
